As I was translating in my text Thoughts Attracted by the Law of Attraction the segment, in which Jesus says:
If you have faith like a grain of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain: Move from here to there, and it would move and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matt. 17:20)
a thought crossed my mind: We have a completely false interpretation of this word!
Mustard seed is a little-bitty seed and we have an interpretation that only tiny amount of faith – tiny spark – would move mountains.
I had googled the English translation of the Bible passage and to my mind it states clearly, that if we would have as much faith as a mustard seed has, we would move mountains.
What does this tell us? It tells, that mustard seed has consciousness. The seed is absolutely clear in its mind of its function to produce a new mustard plant. Would it be enough for a mustard seed to be only half conscious to fulfil its task? Hardly. If the information contained in a mustard seed is damaged somehow it cannot fulfil its task. It will not become a mustard plant.
It is important to understand that belief and consciousness are not relative things. We cannot be a little conscious. We cannot fulfil our function with half consciousness, halfheartedly. We must be either fully conscious and believe or not.
The parable of the mustard seed tells us that if we were completely aware of our function as a mustard seed is, we would move mountains.
The functions of human being is more diverse than that of a mustard seed. Neither the consciousness of a mustard seed is enough for us to fulfil our tasks nor tiny spark of faith. We must become like a mustard seed: fully aware of our function.
